Rule 1:
- Advanced sign up is required at http://paypool.hobob.com/signup2024.htm. Passwords are required this year, so someone doesn't accidently use the wrong player. Anyone can play from anywhere as long as they have an internet connection. Emailed entries will not be accepted.
Rule 2:
- The Pool Manager does not get paid a salary. He derives no direct monetary benefit for running the pool. He doesn't contribute any money to the pool for payouts
- Payouts are determined by the number of players in each pool.
Rule 3: Entry Fees:
· $40 for the Regular Pool (Weekly and Season)

Rule 4: Pool Entries:
- Must be submitted on-line by Thursday, 5:00 pm Central Time at http://paypool.hobob.com.
If the entry is not received there are no picks.
For the Season pool, you can miss up to 3 weeks and still be a contender for winning.
For the Survivor and Low Out pools, you're out.
For Margin there's a 20 point penalty and for High 5 you just don't gain any points.
- Each week the pick sheet will be online by Tuesday Noon Central time.
- The Pool Manager will TRY, repeat, TRY to send reminders on Thursday to those players that have not submitted picks.
It is the Player's responsibility to get his/her picks in on time.
Rule 5: Weekly/Season Pool
- Winner determination:
- Weekly
- The Winner is the player with the most correct picks.
- A pick is required for all games played each week to be eligible for the weekly payout.
- The tie breaker is the closest to guessing the total points of both teams combined of the tiebreaker game (usually a Monday Night game)
- If there is still a tie, the weekly pot will be divided evenly
- Season
- The winner is the player with the best percentage of winning picks.
- If there is a tie in percentage, the lowest average difference between Tie Breaker Total Point guess and actual points scored.
- If there is still a tie, the player with the most wins gets the money.
- A minimum of 15 weeks must be played.
- Payouts:
Note: $40 is deducted from collection total to pay for the software used to run the pool. All other money will be disbursed.
See rule #2 above. The management makes NO money on this pool.
- Weekly Winners: 50% of all money collected from the regular pool is allocated to weekly winners. The weekly winner payout will be determined by the total collected in the Regular Pool, divided by 36. This represents 1/2 of the money collected, and 18 weekly payments.
- Season Winners: to be eligible for the season, at least 15 weeks must be played
- 1st Place receives 25% of all money collected for the Regular Pool.
- 2nd Place receives 15% of all money collected for the Regular Pool.
- 3rd Place receives 10% of all money collected for the Regular Pool.
Rule 5: Survivor Pool:
- Entry Fee: One time entry fee is $5.
- A pool member picks only one team each week. If they win, they move on to the next week.
- Once a member picks a team, they cannot pick that team again .
- If the picked team loses, the player is out of the pool.
- If the picked team ties, the player remains in the pool.
- Missing a pick or using the same team again, the player is out of the pool.
- The pool continues until only one member is left.
- Last member left takes the entire pot.
- If all remaining members lose in one game, the pot is divided evenly ($5 is deducted for software)
Rule 6: Margin Pool:
- Entry Fee: One time entry fee of $10.
- A pool member picks only one team each week.
- Once a member picks a team, they cannot pick that team again.
- If the chosen team wins, the winning margin, or margin of victory is added to the player's season point total. If the team loses, then the winning margin is subtracted from the player's season point total.
- The pool member that has the most points at the end of the season is the winner.
- Missing a pick or using the same team again subtracts 20 points.
- The player with the highest point total at the end of the season wins the 1st place pot of 70% of money collected. 2nd place wines 30%. ($5 is deducted for software)
- Total wins are used as a tiebreaker. If a tie still exists, the pot is divided evenly.
Rule 7: High 5 Pool:
- Entry Fee: One time entry fee of $10.
- A pool member picks 5 teams to win each week.
- You can't pick both teams playing in a game.
- The more games you win, the greater the points earned. 1 win = 1 pt, 2 wins = 3 pts, 3 wins= 5 pts, 4 wins=8 pts, 5 wins = 12 pts.
- The pool member that has the most points at the end of the season is the winner.
- Tie Breaker- Player guessing closest to the total points in final game of the Season. Payout for 1st 75% and 2nd 25%. ($5 is deducted for software)
Rule 8: Low Position Out:
- Entry Fee: One time entry fee of $5.
- A pool member picks teams for all games to win each week via the weekly pool.
- The pool member that had the worst score for the week is eliminated from the pool.
- The tie breaker is the same as the weekly pool
- The last player standing wins the pot ($5 is deducted for software)
Rule 9:
- Final interpretation of any of the rules will be made by me the Pool Master. Every effort has been made to think of everything and make it clear, but I'm only human. My decision is final!
- Please feel free to ask questions and/or point out errors.
- I try very hard to be accurate, but I am human and I do make mistakes. If you do not like my decision you have the option to receive a refund prorated to the remaining weeks in the season.
- It takes time and effort to run this football pool. I do my best to make it fun and transparent to you the players. Please be civil for me
